Richard Marmion

Richard Marmion ,3rd place winner this year in the Amateur division originally from South Africa and now residing in Deep Cove on the mainland. Richard entered our latest competition with the urging of Max and Gord whom he met while working in Vancouver, BC. Canada.  Richard started out sculpting small pieces of wood with a chisel/hammer then was inspired by Irving Stone's Agona and the Extery.  From then on Richard has spent 6 years of study in Portugal apprenticing in Marble Sculptures. His carving of an angel is his first foray into competitive wood sculpturing.
