Merv Waldo

Merv Waldo from Campbell River is our 1st place winner this year in the Amateur division with his beautiful mother dolphin and babies.  This is Merv's third time competing as his success from the previous years continues. Merv has had some experience carving smaller carvings in the past and his skills and eye for detail have been the key points in his success in the annual Driftwood Carving Competition.

His enjoyment of the competition brings him back year after year, and the crowds reaction to his work is inspiring.  This years carving was a favorite among the spectators as the subject appealed to everyone's love of nature and it's inhabitants. Merv can be contacted at: mervwaldo@hotmail.com
