Larry Veerman from Campbell River started carving animals out of wood 3 1/2 years ago and his latest carving of a bear will be enjoyed by all . His carving can be seen at the River Sportsman located in the northern section of town.
Larry commented that he was a avid hunter till he got tired of killing animals and decided to try to carve them out of wood. Since then , he has carved quite a few and his skill progressed along with the carvings. Competing in the recent event was his first public carving exposure.
