*Categories: Our competition defines a Novice is a beginner carver; a Driftwood carver is someone who works with wood and other items found on the beach; Hand tools is a carver using hand tools only; an Amateur as someone who may sell his or her carvings but does make a living from those sales; a Semi-Pro is someone who takes private commissions to carve throughout the year but doesn't make his living solely from carving; a Professional is someone who can or does make a living from carving.
